Tony Sirico at the Casino

I shot this and edited to make it look like a scene out of the sopranos or a mob movie.  I shot it with a canon 1ds at Marc Ecko's Tikva event.

Banksy opens pet shop in New York City

Located on 7th avenue and Bleeker in the west village.

The pet shop is open for business every day until midnight until 31 October and although people cannot buy its contents, they can walk in and view the "exhibition", Banksy's first in New York.

Artworks inside include two fish fingers floating in a fish bowl, robotic rabbits wearing pearl necklaces, a couple of chicken nuggets which appear to be sipping ketchup, hot dogs writhing underneath heat lamps and a CCTV camera nurturing its young. A middle-aged man in overalls, employed by Banksy, dragged an "Open for Business" sign on to the pavement yesterday to mark its opening.

This is not a photograph, but its amazing

Even though it is not a photograph, i am always interested in how the eye and the brain work together...or not so together

If your eyes follow the movement of the rotating pink dot, the dots will remain only one colour - pink.
However if you stare at the black
+ in the center, the moving dot turns to green.

Now, concentrate on the black
+ in the center of the picture.
After a short period, all the pink dots will slowly disappear, and you will only see only a single green dot rotating.

It's amazing how our brain works. There really is no green dot, and the pink ones really don't disappear.
Proof enough that we don't always see what we think we see...

Peter Ruprecht in Complex for close of show

The Monadic Nomad Closing in Complex Magazine

This July, Peter Ruprecht (the photographer who brought us the stunning ladies of the Ecko Manufacturing ads) focused on a more humanitarian cause with his exhibit “Monadic Nomad.” It was through this series of environmentally and socially-conscious images that were both scenic and gritty that he documented his recent travels through India.

Central Park. Winter is coming. The fountain

I shot this at the end of september with my Canon G9 in central park.  The day and the light made it work out nicely.  One of the drawbacks to the G9 is that the wide angle is not that wide.

So you have to get more creative with the framing of the shot.  I managed to keep most of the people crowded around the fountain out of the shot
